We are seeking a highly motivated and successful psychologist to contribute and further enhance the world-class research and teaching within Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Leeds. The Sport and Exercise Sciences research group were ranked 1st for ‘World Leading’ 4* research in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF) and the University obtained Gold in the recent TEF awards, this is therefore a chance to join a sector-leading group within the UK.
Embedded within Sports and Exercise Sciences you will work with a vibrant, dynamic research group and will complement and / or enhance our current research portfolio. Current psychology research can be found http://www.fbs.leeds.ac.uk/research/ses/ and http://medhealth.leeds.ac.uk/info/13..._of_psychology. Current studies include work aimed at developing strategies to promote physical activity as an adjunct to promote well-being during the treatment of cancer and rehabilitation from injury. This closely relates to work developing strategies to promote positive behaviour changes and adherence to physical activity and exercise.
To complement our existing research we welcome applications from candidates who have a research portfolio related to these areas, but also welcome applications from across all applied areas of applied sport and exercise psychology. We are particularly interested in applicants with extensive applied experience working with teams or in the corporate sector. Alternately you may conduct research in the pedagogical/education domain and bring innovation within educational areas demonstrating potential to enhance practice both locally and elsewhere with a background of excellence in teaching practice and outreach activities.
