POSTDOCTORAL ASSOCIATE, Aeronautics and Astronautics, to assume a position in the Stirling Group in collaboration with the MIT Lincoln Laboratory STRIVE Center to help develop a closed-loop, fluent, and intuitive lower extremity exoskeleton that can be easily used by an operator in real-world environments. The position will include opportunities for developing movement prediction algorithms, integration of adaptive controls, and presentation of sensory feedback to the exo-operator. Will be expected to publish in peer-reviewed journals, present at conferences, assist in grant applications, and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: a Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, or related field; a strong understanding of the neuromotor control of human movement, with experience in lower extremity motions; experience designing and performing human subject research; and an interest in human-exoskeleton teams. Excellent documentation and strong interpersonal skills desired; as are the ability to contribute in a multidisciplinary team setting, prioritize and perform multiple tasks in a dynamic environment, and perform independent tasks. Recommended are experience includes human-in-the loop control systems, human-machine interfaces, brain-machine interfaces, exoskeletons, or exosuits; experience with physiological signal acquisition (e.g., IMU, EMG, EEG), processing, feature extraction, and modeling; and experience with programming (e.g., MATLAB, C++, Python).
