Research Assistant – Biomechanics and Sports Medicine

The Department of Orthopaedics and Division of Physical Therapy Education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center has an immediate opening for a Research Assistant to coordinate ongoing research projects representing collaborations between Orthopaedics and Physical Therapy. The main duties of the job will be to provide assistance with clinical research and registry projects, including subject recruitment, data collections, data processing, writing and maintenance of IRB approval, and development of conference abstracts and manuscripts.
Requirements: B.S. degree or equivalent in Health Science or related field. 2 years research experience. Experience related to clinical research to include experience with data management and data analysis. Excellent organizational, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Desirable Additional Skills: Experience with EPIC (medical record system), Visual 3D, Qualisys, MATLAB, and scientific writing preferred.
Duties: Manage, plan, coordinate and direct clinical research within and between the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and the Division of Physical Therapy. Responsible for developing and maintaining the department’s outcomes database to ensure that comprehensive and appropriate data is collected from eligible participants. Assist with data collection in the clinic and operating room settings. Conduct biomechanical testing for select research subjects. Write and assist with the preparation of grant applications and scientific manuscript preparation.
