    The University of Potsdam, Faculty of Human Sciences, Research Focus in Cognitive Sciences, Division of Training and Movement Sciences is seeking to fill the following position by December 1st 2018:

    The hours of work per week for the position amount to 20 hours. The position is limited to 36 months (three years). The salary scale is 13 TVL (area east). Contracts are time-limited according to § 2 Abs. 1 Academic Fixed-Term Contract Law (WissZeitVG).
    The University of Potsdam is looking for a qualified, highly motivated and enthusiastic candidate who will pursue his/her research in Exercise and Movement Sciences on the topic entitled “Differential behavioral and neural effects of physical and mental fatigue on modality-specific task interference in cognitive-postural dual-task situations in young and old adults”.
    Responsibilities:
    The candidate is expected to contribute to a research program that was funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG). This research project is part of the DFG priority program SPP 1772 entitled “Human performance under multiple cognitive task requirements: From basic mechanisms to optimized task schedulings”. The candidate’s working tasks will include the set-up of dual-task experiments in our biomechanics laboratory, the performance of mental and physical fatigue protocols, data collection and processing as well as the presentation and publication of study findings. Data collection and analyses include the following testing methods: kinematics (e. g., opto-electric systems, motion analysis sys-tems, kinetics (e.g., force plates), and electrophysiological testing devices (i.e., electro-encephalography). Teaching is not required.
    Qualifications
     master's degree or diploma in sports science or (cognitive) psychology with a reference to movement sciences
     independent, creative and structured / scientific way of working
     first knowledge of biomechanical (kinetics, kinematics) and electrophysiological re-search methods (EEG)
     excellent knowledge of common MS Office programs (Excel, Word etc.)
     good knowledge of basic statistical methods and application programs (e.g., SPSS, Matlab)
     very good knowledge in English writing
     good knowledge and interest in research methods related to movement sciences
    It is possible to conduct a PhD and/or habilitation on this research project.
