The Department of Physical Therapy at East Carolina University is seeking qualified candidates for a laboratory research coordinator position. Responsibilities associated with this position include management of technical and instructional aspects of the laboratory equipment for student research projects, assisting and mentoring graduate students in the design and execution of research, and collaboration on student research activities with department faculty. Other specific duties include management of research protocols, laboratory research equipment maintenance, assistance with student and faculty grant preparation and manuscripts, inventory management, website maintenance, STEAM outreach activities, oversight of day-to-day lab activities, and other duties as specified by the department chair and lab directors.
Requirements: Master’s degree in engineering, biomechanics, or related area
Preferred characteristics: Strong technical and instrumentation skills, effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills, and expertise with motion analysis techniques, balance and gait assessment, metabolic testing, and/or blood/muscle/tissue analysis techniques.
