Assistant/Associate Professor in Anatomy – Biomechanics: New York Institute of Technology
The New York Institute of Technology, College of Osteopathic Medicine (NYIT-COM, Long Island, NY campus) Department of Anatomy invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level specializing in Comparative Biomechanics and/or Motor Control. Candidates with strong research and funding records of accomplishment at the level of Full Professor will also be considered. Successful candidates will possess a PhD, MD, DO, DVM, DO/PhD, or MD/PhD or equivalent degree and are expected to contribute to medical school teaching, including courses in the newly approved DO/PhD program, and to develop and maintain a productive research program able to attract extramural funding. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in computational and biomechanical methodologies (e.g. inverse/forward dynamics, musculoskeletal modeling/SIMM, control theory). Previous teaching experience in Anatomy, Neuroanatomy, or Embryology is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will join the Department of Anatomy with strengths in functional morphology, evolutionary biology, and vertebrate paleontology and will add to the current research strengths of the newly-formed Biomechanics and Motor Control group specializing in human, primate, and reptile locomotion, human upper limb coordination, and functional/clinical anatomy.
