    Alvernia University Physical Therapy Department Seeking New Core Faculty


    The Alvernia University Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program is seeking candidates for a full time, 12-month assistant/associate professor position to begin in the Summer/Fall of 2019. An academic doctoral degree (PhD, EdD, DSc) is required for consideration for this tenure-track appointment. Demonstrated scholarly activity, academic teaching experience, and commitment to service are required. Candidates should possess expertise in one or more of the following areas: anatomy and physiology, lifespan development, kinesiology, research methodology, administration and management, and/or health care policy. Eligibility for Physical Therapy Licensure in the Commonwealth of PA is preferred. ABD candidates will be considered.


    The DPT program will be transitioning to a brand new, innovative Health Sciences and Wellness Complex (“The PLEX”) in the Summer of 2019, which will include more than 100,000 square feet of academic and recreation space. The PLEX will house a state-of-the-art interdisciplinary movement research laboratory, including a motion capture system, EMG system, and advanced locomotor assessment technologies. Specialized classrooms for the DPT program will enable interprofessional teaching and learning, effectively facilitating collaboration within the College of Professional Programs.
