    The Division of Kinesiology and Sport Management in the School of Education at The University of South Dakota invites applicants for a tenure track position in Exercise Science. The successful candidate is expected to teach undergraduate and graduate coursework in KSM (face-to-face, on-line, and other distance delivery systems), conduct research, serve on various University and School of Education committees, seek grant funding, and publish regularly in professional journals. Additional assignments may be made based on the professional and academic background of the faculty in order to complement the strengths of the Division faculty to address the diverse needs of students in programs within the Division of Kinesiology and Sport Management, School of Education, and university community.

    An earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or closely related field is required. Applicants must have completed the doctorate by August 21, 2019. University teaching experience is required. Knowledge of current biomechanical equipment (such as Matlab, motion analysis systems, EMG, etc.) is also required.

    This is a nine-month, tenure-track position with the possibility of summer employment. An earned doctorate in Exercise Science or related field is preferred. Current ACSM or NSCA certification is also preferred.

    The School of Education is a research- and practitioner-based unit with eight specialty centers and institutes and five divisions: Counseling and Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, Kinesiology and Sport Management, and Teacher Residency and Education. The SOE programs lead to careers as educators, counselors, psychologist, administrators, researchers, educational and health-related specialists, and sport related specialists.

    The Division of Kinesiology and Sport Management (KSM) ( is one of five divisions in the School of Education ( and offers baccalaureate and masterís degree programs in Sport Management, Exercise Science, and Physical Education. The KSM Division currently has 7 full-time faculty; administrative staff; 3 funded graduate assistants; over 400 undergraduate majors; and approximately 45 graduate majors. The division is housed in the Sanford Coyote Sports Center, a new $73 million state-of-the-art facility that opened in 2016.
