The department of health and exercise sciences is recruiting motivated graduate students (MSc and PhD) for the fall 2019 semester. Students will be working in a neuromuscular physiology laboratory using a range of techniques (e.g. Spinal DC stimulation, transcranial magnetic stimulation, surface EMG or fine wire for motor unit decomposition, H-reflexes among others). Ongoing projects include determining the effects of multiple sclerosis on the fatigability of lower extremity muscles, and age related changes in fatigability with cognitive stress. Graduate assistants receive a stipend of approximately $12,000 - $16,000 for the academic year (9-month appointment) and full tuition waiver. It is recommended to apply as early as possible to maximize the possibility of being accepted with funding.
