ANTA brand was established in 1991, while ANTA Sports Products Limited (Stock code: 2020.HK), a leading sportswear company in China, was listed on the Main Board of Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2007. For many years, we have been principally engaging in the design, development, manufacturing and marketing of ANTA sportswear series to provide the mass market in China with professional sporting products including footwear, apparel and accessories. We are looking for an experienced candidate to lead our sports science team within the Innovation organisation based at our Xiamen HQ office. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a world leading brand or sports science lab. The role will report directly into the Head of Innovation.

PURPOSE
- To build and lead a team of Sport Science experts working towards a comprehensive understanding of athletes’ needs and the corresponding product solutions to meet those needs.
- To collaborate with Engineering, Design and Product Development in the creation of innovative solutions for all types of athletes
- Develop the strategic direction for the Sport Science team
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and lead a world class sport science team to bring the needs of the athlete to the product innovation process.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage the activity of all team members, including managing project prioritization and manpower allocation.
- Manage team budget including capital expenditure and operating expenses for the lab activities.
- Establish a global research network to support product research and development.
- Manage relationships with external research partners
- Manage all aspects of contractual agreements with new and existing external research partners.
- Seek out and identify potential new external research partners as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of capabilities of all relevant sports performance research laboratories and facilities.
- Manage internal relationships for the sport science team.
- Manage the relationship between the Sport Science team and the other LAUNCH innovation teams and ensure that their sport science needs are being met.
- Manage the relationship with footwear product testing team and ensure that methods and capabilities are aligned.
- Manage the relationship with upper management to ensure that their expectations are met.
- Provide additional technical support to the team as needed.
- Coordinate and execute any laboratory Public Relations activities
- Creation of innovation roadmap for the advancement of sport science know-how within the Anta LAUNCH innovation team.
- Coordinate with the Engineering, Development and Design Directors to align strategic initiatives towards the development of product innovation
- Hire and manages expert-level scientists to complement the existing skills and expertise
REQUISITE EDUCATION:
- PhD in Biomechanics, Physiology, or (Bio) mechanical engineering, or Bio-/Electromechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 4 years industry relevant experience in a leadership role in Research, Engineering, or similar position.
- Fluent English language skills.
