The Human Performance Laboratory and Center for Lower Extremity Ambulatory Research (CLEAR) at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science are searching for an individual to fill a 3 year position as a Research Associate in the area of biomechanics of locomotion in persons who use lower limb prostheses. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with a strong background in engineering, biomechanics, human movement sciences, and/or kinesiology particularly as it relates to persons with lower limb loss, and have attained a PhD in a related discipline. The primary responsibility of the Research Associate will be to coordinate and contribute to the activities of a clinical trial evaluating the effects of prosthetic socket design on user outcomes. In addition, the candidate is expected to contribute to ongoing, interdisciplinary studies related to locomotor stability and fall prevention in persons with lower limb loss while independently pursuing related research interests. The candidate must be proficient in MATLAB, and have a demonstrated publication history. Experience with gait analysis, writing and managing IRB protocols and conducting human subject’s research in persons who use lower limb prostheses is a plus. The candidate is expected to commit to the position for the entire 3 year period.
