    Postdoctoral Fellow – Clinical Neuroscience and Neuro-Rehabilitation
    Cleveland VA Medical Research and Education Foundation, a partner of Louis Stokes Cleveland Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center is seeking to support a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow in activities within the Brain Plasticity and NeuroRecovery laboratory of the Cleveland FES Center. This is an exciting opportunity to join a laboratory that investigates mechanisms of neuroplasticity and develops rehabilitation techniques to restore upper and lower limb function after stroke and traumatic brain injury. The laboratory employs state of the art methodologies such as functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), Diffusion Tensor Imaging (DTI), Electroencephalography (EEG), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Vicon, Virtual Reality and others. The team studies interventions that combine brain stimulation (TMS and transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS)) and peripherally administered therapy methods. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in one or more ongoing clinical trials and neuroscientific studies involving brain stimulation, rehabilitation/training and structural and functional neuroimaging.
    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    (The functions listed below are characteristics of the type of work associated with this job title. They are not all-inclusive)
    1. Interface with clinical staff, research staff, students, and fellows as well as participate in independent laboratory research.
    2. Assist Principal Investigator with regulatory compliance for research projects, including Institutional Review Board documentation and review as requested.
    3. Participate in manuscript preparation and submission

    QUALIFICATIONS:
    1. Ph.D. in one of the following fields: kinesiology, rehabilitation science, physical/occupational therapy, exercise science/physiology, biomechanics and movement science, neuroscience, biomedical engineering or related field.
    2. Eligible to work in the United States.
    3. Must be able to demonstrate experience through a record of relevant publications.
    4. Strong clinical research skills, ability to lead as well as work well in a team, an understanding of human neuro-motor control in health and disease, and basic knowledge of human neuro-imaging would be desirable.
    5. Highly creative, motivated and independent individual with excellent oral/written communication skills and strong time management skills

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Ph.D. required
    BENEFITS: Benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision and Life coverage 1st day of the month following date of hire. Annual and Sick leave 4hrs accrued each two-week pay period. 10 Holidays.
    SALARY: $50,000-55,000 depending on the years of experience
    START DATE: It would be desirable if candidates can begin in Winter 2019
