| About Westfield State University: Westfield State University is a public, teaching-centered, liberal arts college located in Western Massachusetts approximately 90 miles from Boston, two hours to New York City, and 30 minutes from the Northampton, Amherst, and Springfield areas. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester and there are opportunities to teach in the department's evening and on-line undergraduate and graduate programs. Faculty responsibilities include advising students, service to the University, College of Education, Health, and Human Services, the department, and the community, and an active research agenda. Job Description: The Movement Science, Sport and Leisure Studies Department is seeking an energetic, skilled faculty member with an earned doctorate in Exercise Science, Kinesiology or related field; ABD considered. The ideal candidate will possess relevant professional credentials and at least 2 years teaching experience. Responsibilities will include teaching Kinesiology (Applied Biomechanics) and Strength and Conditioning, and coordinating the Biomechanics Laboratory. The remainder of the teaching load may include upper level courses in Exercise Science and/or other courses in the department core. Additional duties may be assigned as needed by the department or University. The department emphasizes service learning and campus collaboration in support of the University mission of educating all in a diverse and welcoming community. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications:
