There is currently the possibility to apply for faculty studentships focusing on Biomedical Engineering.
Biomedical Engineering research at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (University of Birmingham,
UK) has the following key focus:
- understand the physical properties of natural tissues
- design/develop new replacement materials
- conceptualise new medical devices
Research is mostly focused on cardiovascular and orthopaedic engineering, however, areas such as
urology are also of interest.
