    Overview
    A postdoctoral position is available for independent and motivated candidates to work in the laboratory of Dr. Dave Bolton http://khs.usu.edu/labs/perception-action-lab/indexin the Department of Kinesiology & Health Science at Utah State University. This position will study brain-based mechanisms that contribute to reactive balance control in older adults. The overall goal of our lab is to understand how higher brain processes play a role in avoiding a fall. This is an NIH-funded project for a temporary position with an end-date of November 30, 2020.

    Responsibilities
    The fellow will join a research team conducting studies into the cortical mechanisms of balance control focused on both healthy young and older adult populations. The fellow’s primary responsibilities will be to conduct studies using a variety of techniques, which include: Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, electromyography, force plates, and electrogoniometers. The fellow will play a major role in project management including supervision of research assistants, recruiting participants, data management, data analysis and other day-to-day operations for conducting a research project in human movement science. The fellow will also contribute to research dissemination by presenting at scientific conferences and manuscript preparation.

    Qualifications
    Required:
    · PhD in Neuroscience, Kinesiology or related field
    · Prior research experience in human movement science research
    · Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

    Preferred:
    · Peer reviewed publications in reputable journals
    · Experience with programming (labview, matlab)
    · Statistical skills
