The Motion Analysis Lab at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center is recruiting for a biomechanist with a background in engineering or kinesiology.

The Motion Analysis Lab at Cincinnati Children’s is CMLA-accredited and enjoys a strong collaborative relationship with specialists in physical therapy, occupational therapy, orthopaedics, physiatry, neurosurgery, and neurology. The lab sees ~500 patients annually for clinical evaluation and research assessment.
Qualifications: A candidate with a Master’s of Science in biomedical engineering or kinesiology with strong background in biomechanics is preferred. Experience in working with children with neuromuscular disabilities and the treatment approaches available for these patients is desirable. At minimum, candidates should have a BS degree in biomedical engineering, kinesiology, physical therapy, or exercise science with a strong background in biomechanics.
Position Description: This position will oversee the technical aspects of all motion lab equipment including collection of kinetic, kinematic, electromyographic, pedobarographic, strength, and metabolic data. The individual selected for this job will prepare and evaluate patients according to established clinical/research protocols. He or she will also evaluate patient data with the clinical gait analysis team to identify treatment recommendations and prepare and distributes the final report. The biomechanist will implement and execute research protocols as well as report research data and results in the form of conference abstracts, podium and poster presentations, short papers, and scientific journal submissions. The biomechanist will also participate as a team member in grant proposals and publications, and will be responsible for preparing in-services and lectures for medical students, residents, research fellows, physicians, physical therapists, engineers, and other clinicians.
