    Post-doctoral Position in Musculoskeletal Modeling and Simulation

    Department of Sport Science at the University of Innsbruck

    The Department of Sport Science at the University of Innsbruck, Austria, is looking for a qualified Post-doc with a sound knowledge in modeling, simulation, and optimization of sport movements. The successful candidate will work in the biomechanics group of Prof. Nachbauer with a focus on alpine sports and in particular alpine skiing.
    We offer a state-of-the-art lab infrastructure and provide a positive, constructive working environment. The right person will find excellent conditions to further establish her- or himself as a researcher and will be able to lay solid foundations for their future career.

    Administrative unit:
    • Department of Sport Science

    Extent of employment:
    • 40 hours/week

    Responsibilities:
    • Biomechanical modeling and simulation in musculoskeletal simulation of skiing and/or of friction between skis and snow
    • Independent research and teaching, collaboration in writing of research applications, publications, participation in conferences
    • Supervision of students
    • Assistance in organization and administration

    Required qualifications:
    • Doctor´s degree
    • Sound knowledge in modeling, simulation, and optimization of sport movements
    • High skills in programming (e.g. C++, Matlab, Python) and practical experience with modeling and simulation software (e.g. OpenSim, Comsol Multiphysics, Abaqus)
    • Proof of scientific publications in international peer reviewed journals
    • Very good English skills
    • Collaborative skills, independent word, communications skills, resilience in stressful situations
