  • Two postdoctoral positions: Washington State University and Texas A&M University

Two one-year postdoctoral positions are available immediately in the area of neck musculoskeletal biomechanics. The goal of the work is to examine neck muscle forces and cervical disc loads in static and dynamic conditions. The collaborative project will involve integration of in vivo cervical spine kinematics, muscle activity and neck strength data into subject-specific models. One position is available in the lab of Dr. Xudong Zhang at Texas A&M University in College Station, TX, and the other in the lab of Dr. Anita Vasavada lab at Washington State University, Pullman, WA. Both positions however will involve opportunities to work collaboratively with the other lab.

A successful candidate will be someone who has received a PhD in a related field, is independent and motivated, and with expertise in musculoskeletal modeling. Experience with spine kinematics, neck muscle electromyographic and neck strength measurement techniques are favorable assets. Proficiency in written English is essential. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Email letter of interest outlining experience, along with curriculum vitae, sample publications, and the names and contact information of 3 references to vasavada@wsu.edu and xudongzhang@tamu.edu.
