    The Department of Physical Therapy and Human Movement Sciences (PTHMS) within the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position, in the tenure eligible, investigator track, in the areas of musculoskeletal, orthopaedic or sports research. An emphasis on human studies related to musculoskeletal injury, sports medicine, sports science, orthopaedic injuries affecting movement will be considered a strength. Federal grant funding is required. The ideal applicant will hold a PhD, relevant post-doctoral experience, and demonstrate strong scholarly productivity with consistent funding, publications, and success mentoring pre- and post-doctoral candidates. Applicants should have a strong quantitative research background and will be expected to develop and maintain a distinguished externally-funded research program with rich collaborations with other faculty in departments including but not limited to Biomedical and Mechanical Engineering, NU Athletics, Neuroscience, Radiology, Orthopaedic Surgery and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

    PTHMS is part of the vibrant educational and cultural community of Northwestern University located on the Chicago campus of Northwestern University close to Lake Michigan and the “Magnificent Mile". The collaborative environment at Northwestern University is exceptionally strong, with opportunities for secondary appointments and interactions with faculty in additional departments, including Departments of Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Radiology, Neurological Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, and other departments in Feinberg School of Medicine. The successful applicant is expected to foster existing and new inter-departmental relationships.
