The Institute for Biomechanics and Orthopedics, German Sport University Cologne, offers a position as Research Assistant working part-time with a regular weekly working time of currently 19 hours and 55 minutes.
It is a contract following the German Research part-time occupation regulations (WissZeitVG), which serves to conclude with a doctorate. This position is to be filled for the duration of the doctoral procedure, but initially for a period of up to 3 years.
Your tasks
- planning, implementation and publication of clinical studies in a biomechanical-neuromechanical context (focus: electrophysiologically based feedback in the context of sports injuries)
- continued development or new development of methods for recording and analyzing neuronal signals such as EMG and EEG
- planning and implementation of R&D cooperation projects, especially in the medical and technical field
- creation of competitive third-party funding applications (e.g., DFG, BMBF, EU)
- support for third-party funding
- supervision of Bachelor and Master theses
- participation in the academic self-administration of the institute
Required are
- a graduate degree (MSc or equivalent) in sports science, engineering, physiotherapy or medicine
- sound knowledge in methods of biomechanical motion and load analysis
- motion capture and motion analysis using photogrammetry and sensor-based systems
- EMG and EEG analysis
- experience in the design and/or adaptation of electronic systems
- data analysis (advanced statistics, MatLab, Office)
- experience in the application and acquisition of third-party funded projects
- experience in scientific publishing, proven by thematic scientific
- publications in relevant international journals with peer review
- competent use of the English language spoken and written (German desirable)
Desirable are
- experience in cooperation and collaborative projects
- knowledge in the modeling of multi-body systems for motion and load analysis
- experience in research-oriented teaching
- experience in presenting scientific papers at international meetings
- teamwork, flexibility, resilience and service orientation
- willingness to learn, strong personal initiative and a high level of commitment
If the employment requirements are met, the typical salary group will be 13 TV-L, but may vary according to personal professional experience. The position entails a teaching obligation of 2 SWS / F 1 according to the Teaching Commitment Ordinance of North Rhine-Westphalia.
