Do you want to change the way spinal surgeries are conducted? The HCT laboratory and OIBG group at the University of British Columbia are seeking a talented researcher with skills needed for investigating patient-specific biomechanical modelling approaches of the human spine. We aim to create a clinically useful simulation tool that enhances surgical planning. The post-doctoral fellow will work with our industry and academic partners to create, design and empirically evaluate innovative biomechanical models using the Artisynth platform. - Manage and conduct biomechanical modelling research of the spine with an emphasis on people with spinal deformity;
- Publish in top-quality journals and conferences;
- Develop research funding through grant writing, industrial liaison and other agencies;
- Manage the operations of the project with its academic and industrial partners; and,
- Participate in the day-to-day operation of the project’s administrative operations to ensure that deadlines are met, resources are used effectively, new opportunities are followed up and expectations are realized including co-supervision of students on the project.
