The University of Virginia (UVa), Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, School of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS), is seeking a highly motivated applicant to join the Center for Applied Biomechanics (CAB) as a Research Scientist.
Founded in 1989, the CAB has a staff of 10 Principal Investigators, 20 researchers,10 research staff, and 20 graduate students from SEAS and UVa's School of Medicine and is a global leader in human performance and injury research for sports, military, medical an automobile safety applications. The Center is housed in a dedicated, state-of-the-art 35,000 sq. ft. facility with world class computational, experimental, mechanical, and biological resources.
Responsibilities will include a combination of computational analyses and experimental investigations in automobile safety, vehicle crashworthiness, and in injury, musculoskeletal, and orthopaedic biomechanics. Duties will include supporting team efforts to apply for and obtain competitive research funding support, academic publishing in peer-reviewed conferences and journals, and collaboration with academic, industrial, and government research partners.
QUALIFICATION REQUIRMENTS: Qualified Candidates will have:
APPLICATION PROCEDURE: Apply online at https://uva.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/UV...ering_R0009351 and attach a cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of research interest, and contact information for three professional references.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Review of applications will begin on September 13, 2019, but the position will remain open until filled.
