Assistant/Associate Professor in Exercise Biomechanics
Position: The Department of Health and Kinesiology at Texas A&M University seeks a Tenure Track Scholar in the College of Education and Human Development within the area of Exercise Biomechanics with a primary emphasis in human rehabilitation. This individual will work with motor neuroscience and clinical research faculty and support the department’s clinical application educational programs. Expertise of the candidates is expected to encompass, but not exclusive to, one or more of the following areas: gait and motion biomechanics, motor neuroscience, neuromuscular disease, neurodegenerative disorders, gait analysis, aging, sport evaluation, exercise performance, injury prevention, and/or aging/lifespan. Specific courses taught will include basic Biomechanics, with other courses determined based on faculty content expertise and experience, as well as need of the academic unit. All tenure-track faculty are expected to teach six credit hours per semester, but reductions are granted for faculty utilizing external grant funds.

Qualifications: Basic qualifications include a terminal degree in a field related to Biomechanics and clinical rehabilitation sciences and teaching experience in a University setting. Candidates with post-doctoral research experience, a record of high impact scholarship in clinical conditions, and a record of active externally funded (federal) grant support will be given preference.
Responsibilities: Maintain a cutting-edge research agenda funded by externally funded grants; recruit and train grant-supported doctoral students and post-doctoral fellows; maintain a national presence in the appropriate professional societies.
Appointment: Nine-month tenure-track position with an open starting date (latest August 2020). Salary, benefits and compensation packages are competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
