  • Call for Social Media Editor, Sports Biomechanics Journal

Sports Biomechanics (https://www.tandfonline.com/toc/rspb20/current) is seeking a new Social Media Editor to take on the responsibility of running the successful @SportsBiomechJ Twitter account (https://twitter.com/sportsbiomechj?lang=en) to promote the journal. The candidate may also consider other social media channels - such as LinkedIn - to share articles and promotions with authors and researchers interested in sport. Sports Biomechanics is the official journal of the International Society of Biomechanics in Sports (https://isbs.org/).

The successful candidate should be studying for or possess a doctoral degree in Sport Biomechanics, or a related area in Sport Science or Sport Medicine. The successful candidate should be able to work effectively with the journals’ Editors and Editorial Board, be eloquent and concise in communicating newly published Sports Biomechanics articles to the public, and interact with the @TandFSport and @TandFMedicine accounts. The candidate is likely to have experience of using social media channels in either their professional or personal lives.

The successful candidate will be appointed as ‘Social Media Editor’ on the journal’s Editorial Board, will be provided with guidance and data to support them in their role, and work with the Editors and Publisher to continue to build awareness of Sports Biomechanics by connecting with the community online. Depending on the successful candidate’s location, he or she may also be invited to join journal meetings. The Social Media Editor will receive an honorarium of £500 (starting in 2020), to cover journal-related expenses. As an Editorial Board member, they will receive online subscriptions to both journals, and a 30% discount for Routledge, Taylor & Francis books.

To apply, please email a brief CV (one-page maximum) and cover letter to the Taylor & Francis Portfolio Manager, Alejandra Black (alejandra.black@tandf.co.uk). Please outline in your cover letter how you meet the attributes listed above, your vision for the accounts, and how would build awareness and maximise dissemination of the journals. The deadline for applications is 13th October 2019.
