  • PhD and 2-year Post-Doc positions at University of Bath (UK)

    Dear Colleagues,

The Department for Health of the University of Bath are looking a PhD student and a 2-years Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work on an injury prevention project funded by The Racing Foundation.

The project will be focused on the analysis and prevention of spinal injuries in horse racing (https://www.bath.ac.uk/projects/anal...-horse-racing/ ), and is in collaboration with the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) and the British Racing School (BRS).

The overall aim of this research is to analyse the mechanisms of spinal injury in horseracing, and use this key knowledge to inform the design of interventions to minimise spinal injury occurrence. Identifying injury mechanisms and understanding changes in risk in a range of scenarios will provide objective information to evaluate and optimise current falling technique strategy and inform the design of new protective garments. These aims will be achieved using a multidisciplinary approach that integrates video footage analysis, experimental testing, and computer simulations.

Please see the website below for brief descriptions of the positions available.

Start dates for the PhD Studentships and Post-Doc positions are in February/March 2020.

Interested applicants should contact Dario Cazzola at d.cazzola@bath.ac.uk with any questions and for further information on the application process.

Please pass along this information to any potentially interested candidates.

    Best Wishes

    Dario Cazzola
