The Laksari Lab in the Department of Biomedical Engineering is accepting applications for a fully funded post-doctoral scholar position in biomechanics and modeling of ischemic stroke and traumatic brain injury. The candidate will be starting new research projects in computational and experimental methods to estimate the regional cerebral hemodynamics, tissue changes and patient outcomes. The candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a collaborative team involving biomedical engineering, neuroradiology and biomedical device development. The candidate is required to have strong mathematical and modeling background with enthusiasm in collecting and analyzing clinical data. The start date is immediate, and position is initially for 12 months with possibility of renewal. The candidate is expected to lead independent research projects, work closely with our medical collaborators, mentor students, assist with grant applications, and publish in high-impact journals.

- Doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field
- Experience in conducting medical imaging of the brain (4D-Flow MRI, MRA, or TCD)
- Experience in conducting animal experiments
- Strong written and oral English communication skills and strong publication track record
Preferred qualifications:
- Expertise in biomechanics research
- Expertise in brain imaging
- Experience in finite element and biomechanical modeling
