    The Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Harvard University and Boston University's Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences invite applications for an immediate opening on looking for a highly motivated research physical therapist interested in supporting the development and testing of new technologies and interventions designed to restore function, improve mobility, and reduce physical disability. The position will focus primarily on assisting with the responsible conduct of clinical research at the Wyss Institute. The position will involve regular interaction with the faculty and staff of the Wyss Institute and its collaborating clinical institutions. The ideal candidate is able to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team of clinical researchers, engineers and scientists; is organized; exhibits excellent communication skills (oral and written) and great attention to detail; requires minimal oversight; and has a strong interest in clinical research design and methods.

    Duties and Responsibilities: The research physical therapist will support a number of research projects and duties include, but are not limited to: recruiting research participants, screening and consenting participants, monitoring participant safety during study visits, collecting data, assisting participants with impaired mobility with transfers and walking, managing the research registry, assisting with protocol development, managing and analyzing clinical data, preparing reports, and maintaining regulatory and participant binders.

    Basic Qualifications: Eligible for physical therapy licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Proficient with office productivity software (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). Willingness to tackle multiple projects simultaneously. Willingness to work at all levels to accomplish team goals. Ability to work with patients, caregivers, and staff in research and clinical settings.

    Additional Qualifications: Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program. 3-5 years of physical therapy experience is preferred. Candidates with prior clinical research experience, gait rehabilitation expertise, or specialty board certification are highly desired. Experience with motion capture equipment and data analysis.
