  • Graduate studies in knee biomechanics - Western University (London, Ontario, Canada)

The Biomechanical Engineering Research Lab at Western University (BERL), under the direction of Dr. Ryan Willing, is seeking candidates for masters and doctoral positions focused on knee biomechanics (using experimental and computational methods), starting in Winter or Fall 2020.

The BERL (https://www.eng.uwo.ca/berl/) has facilities at Western University and University Hospital (through the Lawson Health Research Institute) and is affiliated with Western's Bone and Joint Institute (https://boneandjoint.uwo.ca/).

This research project will use both computational and experimental techniques to study the contributions of knee ligaments to joint stability and motion, considering intact, injured, repaired and reconstructed joints. The candidate will perform biomechanical testing using a state-of-the-art AMTI VIVO joint motion simulator, and work to enhance virtual ligament models and hybrid experimental-computational analysis techniques. The candidate may enroll in either Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering (to be discussed with Dr. Willing).

Recognizing that only top-ranking applicants will receive responses, please email a copy of your CV, transcript (unofficial is OK) and cover letter to:
