    Position: Biomechanics Analyst
    Description: The Texas Rangers are seeking a Biomechanics Analyst to join the Performance group in Baseball Operations. The role will focus on tasks related to biomechanics data, including data collection, reduction, and analysis of motion capture biomechanical data. The ideal candidate will be able to effectively communicate with current staff regarding biomechanical information with the goal of integrating biomechanical data into other areas of Baseball Operations.
    Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with Analytics, Sport Science, and Player Development to integrate kinematic and kinetic analyses to enhance Performance initiatives throughout the organization.
    • Oversee all biomechanical data collection, reduction, and analysis in organization.
    • Develop models based on biomechanical data for player evaluation and injury risk assessment through research and scientific process.
    • Implement evidence-based recommendations in areas of pitch and swing mechanics for coordinators, coaches, and Performance staff to use in order to create individualized plans and improve on-field movement.

    Qualifications:
    • Graduate level degree required in biomechanics, biomedical engineering, or related fields.
    • Expertise in various software packages including SQL, R, Visual3D, Python, MATLAB and/or LabVIEW is beneficial.
    • Experience using motion-capture technologies and force plates to conduct novel research is required.
    • Understanding of biomechanics as it relates to baseball is beneficial.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
