The Department of Kinesiology at The University of Texas Permian Basin is pleased to announce an opening for a tenure-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor beginning August 2020. The department is seeking a candidate with a PhD in Biomechanics who has research experience and the ability to engage in a productive program of research. The incumbent will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in his/her area of interest and must have a willingness to develop and teach both face-to-face and on-line courses. The Kinesiology Department has six (6) full-time faculty members, with over 300 enrolled majors. In addition to teaching, faculty members are required to develop productive research agendas, encouraged to pursue research funding through grant development, and provide departmental, college, and University service. A finalist for an Associate or Full professor position will be required to have previous grant funding at the national level and, when hired, submit a grant proposal to The University of Texas Science and Technology Acquisition and Retention (STARs) grant program, which offers substantial research start-up funding. A finalist for an Assistant professor position will be required to show evidence of fundable research and submit a Rising STARs grant proposal, which also offers start-up funding.
