Essential Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include:
- Analysis of human injury resulting from vehicular accidents, mechanical failures, falls, and falling objects, as well as industrial, construction, marine, and recreational accidents
- Vehicle accident reconstruction analysis
- Review and summary of case materials (e.g., photographs, witness statements, depositions, police reports, medical and chiropractic records)
- Identify and apply pertinent research literature and government regulations
- Conduct field evaluations and provide oral and written reports of findings
Job Requirements
Education
- B.S. or M.S. in Biomedical or Biomechanical Engineering, Biomechanics, or similar discipline
- Mechanical Engineering background a plus
Professional Registration and Licenses
- P.E. license a plus
- ACTAR certification a plus (if the successful applicant lacks ACTAR certification, s/he will be required to obtain certification upon hire)
Minimum Experience
- Minimum of 2 years in Biomechanical Engineering
- Extensive knowledge of biomechanical analysis of human motion
- Prior forensic experience a plus
- Vehicle accident reconstruction experience a plus
Special Skills
- Must possess an open attitude and willingness to learn and develop skills as a forensic engineer
- Must be outgoing and able to interact with staff and clients
- Must be highly motivated and able to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
- Must possess excellent verbal communication skills and technical writing abilities
- This position requires that you have the physical ability to perform all of the following functions: work outdoors in hot or cold weather, lift up to 50 pounds, perform duties that may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, or squatting for prolonged periods of time
