    The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Cleveland State University is searching for two faculty members at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level, starting August 17, 2020. Candidates are expected to develop a research program within the existing Center for Human-Machine Systems (http://chms.csuohio.edu) and teach courses in the undergraduate and graduate curricula of the department. All candidates must hold both an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline with degree conferred on or before July 1, 2020. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching experience in solid mechanics, manufacturing, mechatronics, with their research applications in biomechanics or human-machine systems. Successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills, potential for industry collaboration, and for federal research funding. Ability to contribute through teaching and/or service to the diversity cultural sensitivity, and excellence of the academic community.

    Successful candidates will demonstrate potential for teaching excellence and the highest standards of scholarship and professional activity in their research area.     Cleveland State University is a state-assisted metropolitan university in the city of Cleveland with approximately 17,000 students. The Mechanical Engineering Department provides a rigorous education in the principles of mechanical engineering, supplemented by practical experience and communication skills to transform students into well-rounded and competent, ready to go engineers.
