Position Description: Dr. Jessica Selinger is seeking a student interested in pursuing their PhD with an emphasis on the neuromechanical control of locomotion and exoskeletons for gait rehabilitation. Relevant research areas and recent publications can be found on the Queen’s Neuromechanics Lab website. The candidate can pursue their doctoral studies in either the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies or the Department of Mechanical and Materials Engineering, depending on background.
Qualifications: An ideal candidate will have: i. prior research experience in biomechanics or motor control (i.e. MSc or substantial undergraduate research experience in kinesiology, mechanical engineering, or computational neuroscience,); ii. data analysis and computer coding skills (i.e. Matlab, Python); iii. Strong written and oral communication skills.
Funding restrictions: To qualify for these particular funds the student must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada and be willing to start their studies in the Summer or Fall of 2020.
