The Henry M. Jackson Foundation is seeking a Clinical Research Assistant II to support research at the Center for Limb Loss and MoBility (CLiMB) at the VA Puget Sound in Seattle, WA. The CLiMB is a research group focused on preserving and enhancing mobility in Veterans and others with foot and leg impairments or amputations. This is a full-time position in direct support of research protocols involving assessment and training of individuals who have experienced limb trauma.
Responsibilities:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of biomechanics and familiarity with the function of gait laboratories and research protocols is desirable. Interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients and staff. Ability to learn new software quickly, troubleshoot computer related issues, and provide a high attention to detail. Knowledge of Matlab, Vicon Nexus, Cortex, and Visual 3D is highly desirable. Strong writing skills are also desirable.
Minimum Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical/Biomechanical/Mechanical Engineering, Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Physiology or related field from an accredited institution required. Master’s Degree preferred.
Minimum Experience/ Training Requirements: 3-5 years of relevant experience required.

- Assist with the collection and processing of biomechanical and physiological data.
- Synthesize test session results and generate reports.
- Assist with explaining protocols and obtaining informed consent of research subjects.
- Maintains files on research subjects.
- Maintain equipment and computer resources.
- Assist with generating knowledge products from research such as manuscripts, reports and presentations including the editing and formatting of documents.
- May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
