    Position Highlights:
    A postdoctoral fellow position is available within the Young Adult Hip Program in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center. The Young Adult Hip Program at Rush consists of three primary research areas: clinical outcomes, imaging-based modeling, and human motion analysis. The postdoctoral fellow’s primary effort will be in the clinical outcomes and human motion analysis areas of our research program.     Position Responsibilities:
    • To assist with recruitment and enrollment for clinical, imaging, and motion analysis studies for the Young Adult Hip Program
    • To acquire three-dimensional motion analysis, muscle activity, and physical examination clinical data, such as muscle strength, range of motion, and flexibility data during study testing session.
    • To assist with validation studies using imaging and cadaveric models to improve patient specific model building for motion analysis research.
    • To perform data analysis and contribute to expanding musculoskeletal model processing and analysis pipelines as per the needs of the specific motion analysis and clinical outcome projects.
    • To provide guidance to undergraduate and graduate students, medical residents, clinical and visiting research fellows in motion analysis data collection and processing.
    • To work as a member of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team consisting of orthopedic physicians, physical therapists, and engineers to conduct motion analysis and clinical outcome studies in patients with non-arthritic hip pain
    • To prepare and submit manuscripts for publication
    • To prepare and submit federal, foundation, or industry grants as appropriate.

    Required Position Qualifications:
    • PhD degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, biomechanical engineering, movement science, physical therapy, exercise science, kinesiology, or a related field.
    • Programming experience in MATLAB is required.

    Preferred Position Qualifications:
    • Experience in human motion analysis preferred
