The Center for Applied Biomechanics is seeking applicants for a Research Associate for experimental and computational injury biomechanics research.
Candidates will be responsible to assist in the development of research proposals, perform injury biomechanics experiments and computational simulations and analyze data, develop research plans including experimental and computational capabilities, manage the execution of research projects, including supervising graduate students and other personnel, and prepare reports, publications, and presentations of research findings for dissemination to research sponsors and the scientific community.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Candidates must have a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a research focus on automotive injury iomechanics. Candidates must also have at least four years of experience in performing academic research in injury biomechanics, and at least three years of experience with human body modeling in Madymo or LS-Dyna, including the setup and execution of automotive impact simulations. Candidates must also have a proven record of scientific publication and presentation. Preferred applicants will have at least some experience in morphing human body finite element models, show a breadth of knowledge of the field and will have extensively studied and published on more than one general area of biomechanics research, crash type, or road user.
