The University of Texas at El Paso invites applications for the position of Associate Dean for Academic and Faculty Affairs in the College of Health Sciences. This pivotal position in the Dean’s Office will support the strategic plan and the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of priorities that advance the national presence and success of the College, particularly within the context of our recently-earned R1 designation as a top tier doctoral university by the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. Responsibilities will include working closely with department chairs and program directors to advance academic and research standards; periodic evaluation of academic programs; assist with faculty recruitment and development; review, refine, and support adherence to policies, procedures, and services related to faculty workload, annual performance evaluations, tenure and promotion, recruitment, credentialing, and faculty retention; and other responsibilities as assigned by the Dean.
