  • Phd position in evolutionary/comparative biomechanics - Univ Poitiers (FRANCE)

Title: Role of vertical locomotion and morphological diversity in Plio-Pleistocene hominins: biomechanical and morphological approaches

This PhD is part of the Homtech project (http://palevoprim.labo.univ-poitiers...ech-2018-2022/).
The PhD works rely on using morphometrics and biomechanics (including musculoskeletal modeling) to study form-function relationship of the shoulder complex.

More details (in French) here: https://www.u-ldevinci.fr/cega/2020/...ive-et-biomec/

This is a 3-year funded position. Work will take place at the Palevoprim and Pprime CNRS Institutes, both located in Poitiers (France), under the supervision of Guillaume Daver, Jean-Renaud Boisserie and Mathieu Domalain
Candidates must own a Master degree with a strong curriculum in biomechanics.
Desired qualifications include a theoretical background in musculoskeletal modeling and paleontology and/or primatology, Python/Matlab programming skills, data analysis and statistics.
Speaking French is a plus but not mandatory.

To apply, send a resume and letter of application (+ recommendation letters) to mathieu.domalain@univ-poitiers.fr before May 8th.
