Immediate Funded Ph.D. Assistantships—Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, USA
The Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, & Systems Engineering (IMSE) at Texas Tech University (TTU), Texas, USA is looking for highly motivated individuals to pursue doctoral degrees in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in human factors engineering. Research is focused in the areas of human-systems engineering, including but not limited to musculoskeletal health biomechanics and modeling, integrated (physical and central) fatigue modeling and analysis, motor learning and control, and machine learning approaches in ergonomic research. The fully-funded assistantships cover tuition and a competitive stipend. Potential start dates includes Summer 2020 or Fall 2020.
The students will have access to state-of-the-art equipment including an optical motion capture system, virtual and augmented reality system, haptics, wearables, force plate, electromyography, electroencephalogram, isokinetic dynamometer, 3DOF driving simulator, eye tracker, flexible wearables, and other physiological measurement systems. Position requirements:
- A recent B.S./M.S. degree in Industrial/Biomedical/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- Possess the potential to be admitted to the IMSE graduate program: https://www.depts.ttu.edu/imse/graduate/admissions.php
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred qualifications:
- Hands-on experience in human-related experiments, signal processing, machine learning, human motor control and learning, and musculoskeletal modeling
- Knowledge of OpenSim, finite element analysis, or mathematical modeling
- Prior research-based publications and presentations
- Desire to pursue a long-term research-related career
