A 1-year, full time postdoctoral position is open in the Virtual Reality and Clinical Gait Analysis Laboratory in the Department of Physical Therapy at High Point University. This position would involve working on a study that will assess gait, cognition, and visual attention as possible early biomarkers of Alzheimer’s disease, as well as other related and ongoing projects in the lab. The applicant should be highly organized, extremely detail-oriented, and be able to manage multiple tasks with ease. In this position, the postdoctoral scholar will be expected to demonstrate strong interpersonal communication, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and professional etiquette.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Data collection and processing from instrumentation within the Virtual Reality and Clinical Gait Analysis Laboratory (i.e. IMU gait system, eye-tracking glasses, cognitive testing software, instrumented walkway, physical activity monitors, etc.)
- The ability to administer and control quality of cognitive testing
- The ability to assist laboratory personnel in technical procedures
- Design and perform experiments and record data according to research protocol
- Independently reproduce, evaluate, research and improve techniques currently used and adapt new methods to existing procedures
- Recent PhD (ABD may be considered) in biomechanics, physical therapy, motor control, neuroscience, kinesiology, engineering, psychology, or related discipline, and have an interest in working with older adults
- Fluency in English (verbal and written)
