    The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Mississippi ( invites applications for a nontenure- track position at the Instructor level. The successful candidate for this full-time position will teach three to four required and elective courses per year, primarily related to signal processing and biomechanics. They will also advise students and participate in continuous improvement of the BME curriculum. The initial appointment is for two years.

    Established in July 2019, we are the state’s first and only Department of Biomedical Engineering. The Department recently began a $1.3M renovation of approximately 10,000 square feet of teaching and lab space to accommodate our rapid growth and undergraduate teaching needs. The University of Mississippi is located in Oxford, MS, an hour’s drive southeast of Memphis, TN. Touted as the “Cultural ecca of the South”, creativity abounds in Oxford as musicians, artists and writers alike find inspiration in Oxford’s small town charm and unique

    community; known as the home of Nobel Prize winning author William Faulkner. Oxford has been featured as a literary and arts destination in such publications as TheNew York Times, Southern Living, CondéNast Traveler, andGQ.

    The qualified candidate must have a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
