OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager - Biomechanics Research & Performance Fit Lab, you will work with researchers in the Performance Fit Lab to schedule subjects, provide participants with a great experience during their visit, and collect and analyze biomechanical data. The Performance Fit Lab (PFL) operates within the Product Development department and helps in delivering best in class product, specifically in efficacy of our benefits: Agility & Speed, Endurance & Health, and Power & Precision. You will execute projects that require collaboration with a variety of internal and external stakeholders and manage a keystone team that enables BOA to achieve its strategic initiative of delivering measurable performance fit improvements. You will bring a curiosity and rigor to your work that assists us in developing, executing, and growing the PFL.

IMPORTANT NOTES
- We are searching for two paid interns to start in January, and the internships will last approximately 4 months.
- This position will be located in Denver, CO and we welcome relocations but we unfortunately will not be able to assist with relocation.
- The position will be a mix of remote, field and in-office work. BOA is extremely vigilant about ensuring employee safety so all work conditions will be in accordance with public health guidelines.
- We are not able to sponsor any visas for these roles.
- There is a possibility (not guaranteed) for a full-time research role to open in the Performance Fit Lab upon completion of the internship.

YOU WILL
- Assist researchers in collecting and analyzing biomechanical data (using 3D motion capture, IMUs, pressure insoles, etc.).
- Make research participants feel comfortable in the lab, motivating them to push to their limits
- Schedule research subjects based on lab testing needs
- Discuss quantitative and qualitative findings with various other departments within the company
- Develop your understanding and knowledge of biomechanics through a focus on performance fit
- Current enrollment in or recently completion of Master of Science degree in biomechanics, kinesiology, exercise science, engineering, or other related discipline
- 1+ year of hands-on research in biomechanics
- Experience collecting and analyzing 3D motion capture, force, pressure, and other time-series data
- Familiarity and a desire to work with Matlab, R, and Python (you do not need to be an expert, but must have a strong desire to learn!)
- The ability to collaborate and build relationships with diverse groups of people
- A passion for continuously learning and seeking out new approaches
- Availability to work between 20-30 hours per week
- Subject recruiting experience
- General knowledge of footwear design and application with respect to athletes
- A customer service background
- An interest in competitive sport and outdoor activities
