  • Graduate Program in Kinesiology at Washington State University - Pullman

The Department of Kinesiology and Educational Psychology at Washington State University is seeking students interested in studying Biomechanics or Motor Control for our M.S. degree in Kinesiology, with several avenues for full funding. Besides biomechanics and motor control expertise, the department includes faculty with expertise in physical activity psychology, exercise physiology, and statistical modelling in public health. The focus of the graduate program is to prepare students for a career conducting and/or applying research.

Current areas of faculty research in biomechanics focus on human balance control, pregnancy-related injuries, and the evolution of bipedalism. See the following link for more information: https://labs.wsu.edu/biomechanics/

Current areas of faculty research in motor control focus on the cognitive basis of motor learning using electroencephalography (EEG) and effects of aging, movement disorders, and substance use (e.g., cannabis) on motor learning and control. See the following link for more information: https://labs.wsu.edu/cogmolab/

Information about the graduate program can be found at https://education.wsu.edu/graduate/k...aduateprogram/. Please direct any questions to Dr. Robert Catena, Graduate Program Director (robert.catena@wsu.edu).

Only admitted students are able to apply for assistantships.

Pullman was recently named the best city to live in the state of Washington by the Chamber of Commerce (https://www.chamberofcommerce.org/be...in-washington/). This college town is located on the eastern side of Washington, seven miles from the Idaho border. It is in close proximity to Spokane (for city fun), the Snake river (rafting and beach activities), and the Cascades and Rocky Mountains (hiking and skiing).
