    Immediate Funded Ph.D. Assistantships—Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, USA

    The Department of Industrial, Manufacturing, & Systems Engineering (IMSE) at Texas Tech University (TTU), Texas, USA is looking for highly motivated individuals to pursue doctoral degrees in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Biomechanics. The fully-funded assistantships cover tuition and a competitive stipend. Potential start dates include January 2021 or May 2020. The student will work in a federally funded project on designing a ballistic helmet for the firefighters.

    Position requirements:
    • A recent M.S. degree (or ongoing) in Biomedical/ Electrical/ Industrial/ Mechanical Engineering, Kinesiology, or similar degrees focusing on biomechanics

    Preferred qualifications:
    • Hands-on experience in human-related experiments, signal processing, machine learning, human motor control and learning, and musculoskeletal modeling
    • Knowledge of OpenSim, finite element analysis, or mathematical modeling
    • Students who are proficient in Finite Element Modeling (explicit simulation) will be given the topmost priority.
