    Position Description

    The Saint Louis University Program in Physical Therapy is seeking applicants for two tenure-track 9-month faculty appointments. These positions haves an anticipated start date of August 2021. Investigators with backgrounds in physical therapy or related disciplines who are committed to advancing the science and/or practice of physical therapy are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to engage in research (50% of workload), obtain external funding for research, teach in an area of expertise, and provide service to the Department, College, and/or University. A competitive total compensation package, including start-up funds, tuition remission for qualified personnel, and a generous retirement plan will be provided. Rank and salary are dependent on qualifications and experience.



    The Program’s 17 full-time faculty engage in teaching, research and service to the University, profession and St. Louis community. Consistent with the research goals of the College and University, faculty are committed to enhancing the Program’s research profile via implementation of the Program’s strategic plan. In addition, the College is actively pursuing development plans for initiating dynamic, interdisciplinary PhD education.



    Position Requirements

    Required
    • Academic doctoral degree (e.g. PhD, EdD)
    • A defined research agenda with a record of peer-reviewed publications
    • Experience in grant submissions and/or funding
    • Evidence of teaching experience at the university level



    Preferred
    • Current physical therapist license in the United States, Puerto Rico or the US Virgin Islands
    • Postdoctoral fellowship training





    Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training

    The Physical Therapy and Athletic Training department houses the accelerated, freshmen-entry Doctor of Physical Therapy program and the accelerated Master of Athletic Training program. The Physical Therapy program is one of the higher-ranked programs in the country according to US News and World Report.
