  • Funded PhD Position | Gait Biomechanics and Knee Imaging following ACL Injury | Michigan State U (East Lansing, MI)

A funded PhD position is available for Fall 2021 in the Athletic Injury and Rehabilitation Laboratories (AIR Labs) under the direction of Dr. Matt Harkey. Our research focuses on laboratory-based studies maintaining long-term knee joint health in patients following ACL injury, as well as epidemiological studies in people with and at risk for knee osteoarthritis.

Applicants will have the ability to work on specific projects involving, but not limited to:
    • Ultrasound assessment of knee joint health
    • Walking gait biomechanics
    • Physical activity participation
    • Physical function assessment in people with and at risk for knee osteoarthritis

Candidates with a background in human movement (kinesiology, exercise science, biomedical engineering, physical therapy, athletic training, or a related field) are encouraged to apply. Prior research experience with human subjects, gait biomechanics, or musculoskeletal imaging are highly desirable.
