  • Funded PhD Position | Sensory Input during Disturbed Sitting Stability of People living with a Spinal Cord Injury | LAMIH, Valenciennes, France

    Dear all,

The LAMIH (UMR CNRS 8201) at the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France is pleased to open a PhD position in the topic of disability biomechanics under the direction of Prof. Franck Barbier and Dr. Mathias Blandeau from the Human and Life Sciences departement.
The objective of this project is to understand and model the sensory input contribution for sitting stability, one of the first task learned in rehabilitation after suffering a spinal cord injury.

You will find the details of the project at this link (english) or this link (french). A description of the LAMIH can be found here.
This PhD will be an opportunity to use the equipement of the LAMIH, the motion capture system but also the PSCHITT plateform for external disturbances reproduction.

Candidates with a background in motion analysis (experimental protocol, data processing...), human biomechanics (motor control, anatomy...) and biomedical engineering (biomechanical modelling, numerical computations...) are encouraged to apply.

If you are interested and/or would like additional information, please send me an email (mathias.blandeau@uphf.fr) with:
    1. a statement of interest that explains your research interests and skills,
    2. a copy of your CV.
    3. a list of 3 professionnal references (name, job title, company/laboratory)

Looking forward to reading great applications.
    M.
