Tenure or Tenure Track Faculty Opportunities: Division of Physical Therapy, Department of Rehabilitation Medicine, Medical School
The Division of Physical Therapy at the University of Minnesota is inviting applicants for two full-time, 12 month, tenure or tenure-track faculty lines. The rank upon hire will be commensurate with experience (Assistant through Full Professor).
Ideal candidates will have an established history of research productivity, and a passion for education and mentorship in physical therapy and rehabilitation science. Candidates should have a demonstrated capacity for collaboration across the academic setting. Responsibilities include pursuing extramural funding, conducting research with scientific dissemination, research advising of DPT and PhD students, teaching, and service. DPT teaching needs exist in neuroscience, applied neuroscience, and neurorehabilitation, although other areas of teaching expertise will be considered. Candidates should demonstrate strong evidence or promise as a successful researcher and educator in rehabilitation science and have enthusiasm for participating in faculty governance and professional service. One position requires a physical therapy degree with eligibility for licensure in Minnesota. Both positions require an earned academic doctorate, with post-doctoral experience expected. The Division of Physical Therapy at the University of Minnesota is an academic unit with 18 faculty lines and an 80-year history within the Medical School. The Division upholds a strong national reputation with regard to quality graduates, scientific productivity, and professional leadership. Degree programs include a DPT, and a DPT/PhD joint degree. The Division enjoys close integration with a PhD/MS program in Rehabilitation Science, and houses an accredited Geriatric Clinical Residency, as well as collaborations with other advanced residencies and fellowships. As a major public research institution, the University of Minnesota has substantial opportunity for collaborative work across the University, in the local community, and with national and international institutions. The University offers substantial research resources, including the Center for Magnetic Resonance Research, The Minnesota Supercomputing Institute, the Masonic Institute for the Developing Brain, the Non-Invasive Neuromodulation Lab, and many additional resources.
Applications are due for initial review April 1st, although the search will remain open until the positions are filled. The desired start date is Fall 2021, however, this is negotiable.
