Research Assistant – Neuroplasticity and Motor Behavior Laboratory

The Neuroplasticity and Motor Behavior Laboratory at Moss Rehabilitation Research Institute (MRRI) located in Elkins Park, PA, has an opening for a Research Assistant (RA) beginning in January 2020. Under the direction of Shailesh Kantak, PT, PhD, the laboratory conducts research on upper extremity motor learning, underlying brain mechanisms, and effective, evidence-based rehabilitation treatments for patients with neuromuscular disorders. The RA will gain valuable experience in collecting clinical, behavioral, and neurophysiological data from individuals with stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and healthy controls. Specifically, the RA will gain experience with the collection and analyses of kinematic and kinetic data, Electromyography (EMG), and Noninvasive brain stimulation techniques such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS). RAs in the lab also get opportunities in protocol ideation and implementation, the composition of manuscripts for publication, and posters for conference presentations.

MRRI and MossRehab are part of the Einstein Healthcare Network, an Equal Opportunity Employer located in the Philadelphia area.
