The Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Catholic University of America invites applications for a full-time visiting faculty position, to start on August 20, 2021.
The Catholic University of America, located in Washington D.C., is composed of 12 schools offering a wide variety of undergraduate, graduate, and professional degrees. The Biomedical Engineering Department offers bachelor’s degrees (ABET accredited) and graduate degrees in biomedical engineering (B.B.E, M.S., and Ph.D.). Duties include teaching courses in biomedical engineering or other related courses as assigned by the chair of the Department of Biomedical Engineering, and contributing to the research activity of the department. The department is the lead site of a DHHS-funded Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center (RERC), and is a participant in a second RERC, and department faculty have additional active funding from NIH, ONR, and the DC VA Medical Center. The department seeks faculty who can collaborate on existing research projects and contribute to future grant proposals. Qualified candidates must also possess a strong commitment to education and demonstrate effective teaching and communication skills. Our university prides itself on delivering a high-quality individualized education to students in a research-oriented university that has a strong liberal arts tradition. Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in biomedical engineering or a closely related field.

3) a complete resume,
4) a one- to two-page personal statement indicating how the applicant’s research, teaching, and service will make a distinctive contribution to our University’s mission and to the vision of Catholic education outlined in the Apostolic Constitution on Catholic Universities Ex Corde Ecclesiae.
